I've gotten back into the habit of listening to Morning Becomes Eclectic on KCRW.
MBE has been playing tracks off the forthcoming Ray LaMontagne album Till the Sun Turns Black.
I have to say, I've heard quite a few songs off this album, in concert and on bootleg and I am very excited.
Then again, Ray LaMontagne generally excites me in a I wanna be sedated sort of way.
The track Empty appears on Live from Boonaroo 2005
The title track is available on bootleg as an early pre-Trouble demo
Three More Days, apparently the first single is available from Ray's website, here.
Can I Stay, heard in concert, was streaming on his site, but may be available elsewhere.
Not on Till the Sun Turns Black, least to my knowledge, is this cover of Crazy, by Gnarls Barkley.
Add to this the production genius of Ethan Johns (who brought me my first love of my musical life Ryan Adams in Heartbreaker as well as the new love of my musical life Ray LaMontagne in Trouble) and it is quite clear that if I could warp ahead one month to August 29th, the day the album comes out, I would. I would even skip my birthday (August 19th) for this album.
Alas, I must wait, but whilst I wait, I listen, and listen, and listen.
